The SST Project Manager reports to the Head of SSA Unit and is responsible for:
  • Supporting 1SST and 2-3SST projects coordination e.g. schedule, financial control and reporting;
  • Prepare 1SST and 2-3SST projects deliverables e.g. reports, coordinating the collection of inputs, harmonising and redacting final versions;
  • Support the execution of the SST project activities, including the ones related with user engagement and communication activities e.g. webinars/workshops organisation, definition and update of websites, and dissemination material.
  • Support the organisation and participate to related project meetings e.g. preparing and sending invitations, agenda, presentations, briefing/reporting activities, taking minutes.
  • University degree or equivalent in the field of project management/business administration;
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required with at least 1 year in the field of responsibility.
  • Certification related with project management e.g. PMP, PRINCE2 is an advantage;
  • Knowledge and experience on dissemination/communication and user engagement activities (e.g. webinars, workshops, webpages update, feedback campaigns) is an advantage;
  • Experience on managing subcontracts in support of dissemination/communication and user engagement activities, is an advantage;
  • Acquaintance with space, engineering or scientific related matters is an advantage;
  • Experience in international organizations is an advantage.
  • Superior drafting and communication skills in English;
  • Knowledge of the institutional framework, decision-making procedures of the European Union would be an advantage, as well as experience in projects under the EU Framework programme (FP) and/or H2020;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office incl. PowerPoint and MS Word;
  • Excellent time management skills, able to prioritise, work well under pressure or with tight deadlines;
  • Good sense of initiative and responsibility is required as well as a dynamic attitude, very hands-on oriented, problem-solver and the ability to collaborate and work in a team.
  • Nationality of an E.U. Member State.
  • Security Clearance to at least SECRET UE, or equivalent. In case the successful candidate is not in possession of such a clearance, the SatCen will request it. In case of the local staff is not cleared, the contract will be terminated with immediate effect.
  • Stress resistant and good state of health.
  • Driving license.
  • Local staff are personnel recruited for limited periods. In this case activities are associated to the limited duration of the 1SST and 2-3SST 2018-20 projects, for which SatCen related activities are expected to last till March-22.
  • Local staff contracts do not have the status of international staff, and are subject to the laws and regulations of the host State (Spain) where they are employed.
  • The gross annual salary (with 12 monthly payments) will be 106,000 € subject to Spanish income tax and social security contributions.
  • Posting is at SatCen, Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid) Spain.
