Position Description
Joule Assets Europe engages with financial funds, project developers, regulators, manufacturers and national associations as a center for expertise and change. Our goal is to ensure that no viable project able to support the fight against climate change, fails due to a lack of finance. We therefore provide strategic support to enable investment for Sustainable Energy Assets projects, including energy efficiency, distributed renewables, storage and building control measures. Joule's online platform, eQuad, provides access to third-party project valuation, performance insurance, project certification, risk assessment, due diligence, and introductions to prequalified capital sources. We are also in the midst of creating an industry association dedicated to this same goal involving a wide range of stakeholders. We need a capable, motivated and goal-oriented person to drive this effort.
Joule Assets is seeking a Senior Manager able to advance Joule’s commercial activities in Europe and in particular the development of the industry association and engagement with stakeholders. We are looking for a dynamic candidate with strong interpersonal skills, service orientation and a strong sense of mission. Key activities will include the establishment of a membership base for a newly created sustainable finance industry association. The selected candidate will work from Joule’s Brussels office and report to Michael Pachlatko, Director of Joule Europe in Italy as well as cooperate with the Joule Assets New York office.
Responsibilities – as a Senior Manager, you will:
• Spearhead the establishment of an industry association, by identifying and recruiting potential members and partners (contractors, energy service companies, investors)
• Play a key role in the European Commission funded initiatives in support of this industry association
• Support the design and lead the implementation of a business expansion strategy, that further solidifies Joule Assets’ presence in key European markets
• Implement marketing strategies and develop sales initiatives
• Build, promote and maintain strong, long-lasting business relationships by understanding the needs of our business partners
• Define periodic sales targets and present regular reports, analyzing trends and results
• Ensure targets are delivered • Actively participate in internal strategic discussions on prioritizing initiatives
In completing these tasks, you will work closely with, and have the support of, the company’s executive staff, sales and marketing staff, and research and analysis staff.
Experience – the ideal candidate should:
• have at least 5 years of sales or policy leadership experience • have a solid track record of meeting or exceeding sales and/or membership targets in previous positions • have previous experience in working for an association • have previous work experience in the sustainable energy sector and/or finance
• have an existing business network in the sector • have previous management experience • be fluent in English (any other European language a plus, e.g. French).
