UITP (International Association of Public Transport) is a passionate champion of sustainable urban mobility and is the only worldwide network to bring together all public transport stakeholders and all sustainable transport modes. We have 1,500 member companies giving access to over 14,000 contacts from 97 countries. Our members are public transport authorities and operators, policy decision-makers, research institutes and the public transport supply and service industry. UITP’s head office is located in Brussels and the association operates across 15 regional and liaison offices around the world.

We are currently looking for a: R&I Communications Officer

Role: Working under the supervision of our Head of Communications and R&I Director, the role is to support the visibility of R&I projects while ensuring editorial coherence with all the UITP communications.

This includes continous liaison between R&I and communication department and dissemination projects.

This role includes:

  • Identification of potential content and contributors to carry out background research and collect information on the R&I projects of UITP;
  • Coordination of dissemination activities of R&I projects with UITP communication plans;
  • Production of content and campaigns (articles, news, videos, banners, blogs, social media posts, etc.) to disseminate information about the R&I projects through the various UITP channels (website, MyUITP, social media, PTI, press, etc.) while ensuring all produced materila fits with UITP visual identity;
  • Publication of information on projects website, newsletters, media, in collaboration with the R&I Project Manager who is responsible for the information production and the relative project dissemination strategy;
  • Collaboration with the Media & Press Officer to proactively engage with media to raise awareness about R&I projects and respond to media enquiries;
  • Contribution to the Editorial Committee to ensure all content produced for UITP channels reflect the communication’s editorial plan;
  • Contribution to communications-related activities in specific R&I projects (eg video, website, brochures, etc.) identified by the R&I Project Managers but according to available internal resources within the communication department;
  • Coordination with external suppliers the production – both content and format – of communications products and materials such as infographics, leaflets, videos, publications, etc. independently and/or with the technical support of external providers in line with the project & Association’s brand and style and under coordination of R&I Project Managers;

Some purely administrative tasks such as:

  • Ensure effective reporting of statistics;
  • budget and costs reporting,
  • active participation in team meetings

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related fields
  • 2 years of experience in an editorial, communication and/or marketing department
  • (Near-)native English
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Powerpoint, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of Photoshop
  • Well-organised and able to work on different projects
