Job Description
The Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya is an advanced research center established in Barcelona (Spain) which is devoted to fundamental and applied R&D related to the physical and lower layers of communications systems. At present time, the CTTC is interested in filling the following Research Associate position in communication technologies:
RESEARCH ENGINEER POSITION:
Software Engineer (Ref. 7/2009-1, 1 position): A software engineer / developer, with experience in networked systems development in C and C++ languages. Knowledge of software development in POSIX, GNU/Linux environments is a must, including IPC mechanisms (BSD sockets, shared memory…) and POSIX threads. The applicant must have a good theoretical knowledge of networking in general, and TCP/IP protocols in particular (including routing and signalling protocols), as well as experience in client/server applications or network control & management frameworks. Knowledge of perl, GTK/QT GUI, C GLIB or C++ Boost libraries, as well as previous experience working with or developing protocol stacks (e.g. Zebra, Quagga, XORP, NS2…), is highly appreciated.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must hold an MSc/Engineering degree in computer science, telecommunications, or related fields, capacity of carrying out innovative research independently. Experience in R&D or industrial projects carried out in the context of research institutions and centres is a plus.
CONDITIONS
The position is permanent. Profiles with different levels of work experience are sought. The rank and gross salary in the range 22,000-25,000€/year (graduate engineers) and 27,000-30,000€/year (skilled engineers) will be determined according to qualifications and work experience.
