Job Description
ReachCentrum is currently managing close to 100 REACH consortia and the demand from the industry keeps growing. With the view on later registration deadlines for substances to be registered under REACH after 2010, ReachCentrum would like to expand further its staff.
Mission
The Consortium Manager will have the responsibility for project management of new and existing REACH consortia. The candidate we are looking for has to be an experienced manager with a technical background and knowledge of the REACH legislation. He should be able to negotiate with and bring together big groups of companies that all want to defend their own interests.
Main Tasks
- Organizing consortium activities in line with our Road Map
- Maintain, communicate and manage the consortium planning
- Maintain consortium administration (e.g. budget) and organize the communication with other stakeholders (potential new Consortium members, data sharing requests)
- Chair consortium meetings (between technical stakeholders in the taskforces organized and the managerial stakeholders involved) or facilitate these meetings as a secretary
- Coordinate the work to complete a REACH registration dossiers (via external service providers where necessary, e.g. for additional testing)
- Solve upcoming issues
- Hierarchical position
- The Consortium Manager will report to the Manager of the Consortium Management Service and will be supported by ReachCentrum staff.
Profile
- The ideal candidate should:
- Have a degree in chemistry
- Have basic knowledge of REACH and have experience with European chemicals law
- Have relevant Project Management experience (preferably within chemicals industry) and proven record of working with multiple stakeholders in joined projects where the communication and decision making process is crucial
- Be a strong communicator and facilitator of decision making processes
- Having relevant knowledge of registration processes (e.g. collection and evaluation of toxicological tests) is a strong pre
- Have experience with chemicals industry
