IFIA, the International Federation of Inspection Agencies, are recruiting a Public Policy Intern to support their activities aimed at strengthening co-ordination and exchange among its members. The successful applicant will work closely with the Director General and her PA, as well as the various experts within the member organisations to promote and support the work programme of the association. The internship position will run for six months and a monthly allowance will be provided. Starting date: 15th October 2018.


  • Monitor, follow-up and report on legislative developments of relevance to the association;
  • Attend meetings and events on behalf of the association and report back on them
  • Undertake research and compile information on issues of interest for the association;
  • Assist other members of staff with their work


  • Fluency required in English (oral and written) and one other European language
  • Masters degree in the field of International Relations, Politics, Law, Business, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to the fast-paced workplace
  • Ability to coordinate and execute complex logistical tasks
  • Knowledge of the EU institutions and EU decision-making processes
  • Work experience in a relevant field, with professional experience in EU institutions an asset
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to conduct research independently and
  • Positive attitude, flexible, enthusiastic, energetic, motivated, team-player


  • Experience of working in an international association based in Brussels but acting globally
  • Opportunity to learn about IFIA members’ engagement at EU and international levels in a highly diverse business (ranging from toys to buildings, cars and power plants)
  • Work in a small and dynamic, international team with exposure to a broad range of European and international issues
