Job Description

 
The IRCT is seeking applications for a Psychiatrist, Public Health Expert or Clinical Psychologist with international experience
 
 
Job tasks:

  • Support the development and implementation of the health policy of the IRCT (i.e. treatment, research etc.)
  • Facilitate quality development of rehabilitation of torture survivors in close collaboration with IRCT member organisations
  • Contribute to the development of tools and programmes for monitoring and evaluation of treatment approaches 
  • Facilitate capacity development and exchange of knowledge, including dissemination of research and knowledge on treatment methodologies 
  • Train member centre staff as part of capacity building
  • Facilitate the development of new training materials on rehabilitation approaches 
  • Provide medical input to other IRCT activities
  • Contribute to the design, development, implementation and evaluation of IRCT projects and programmes

 
Documented qualifications:

  • MD in psychiatry or relevant equivalent degree in public health or clinical psychology 
  • Several years of experience with international health development and/or human rights issues
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent writing/drafting skills
  • Experience in training/teaching
  • Professional experience with treatment of traumatised patients

 
Other qualifications:

  • Experience with rehabilitation of torture survivors would be an asset
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of one of the other UN languages would be an asset
  • Multicultural experience – especially from developing countries
