Job Purpose Summary: Supporting the team in the planning of our annual event and providing research and administrative capabilities.

FRH brings together people and organizations who want to save and protect Europe’s religious heritage. We are a not-for-profit association and are non-religious. With members in the NGO and business sector, universities and local and national governments, FRH provides a European-wide platform for cooperation, exchange of ideas and knowledge. Our office is based in Brussels, in the middle of the European quarter. It now has 3 staff members supported by dedicated and passionate volunteers. FRH’s governing body is the Council, which currently has 11 members. FRH is one of the 35 organisations which have been selected by the European Commission to participate in the implementation of the European Year of Cultural Heritage in 2018. FRH is a network funded under the programme “Creative Europe”.


  • Providing support in the organization of our biennial conference that will take place in October 2018. Prior event management a plus.
  • Researching projects and organisations across Europe who are working on the topic of religious heritage
  • Increasing and improving FRH’s online presence through the development of online communication
  • Liaising with FRH members to include their publications and other information on the FRH website
  • Supporting the keeping of FRH contacts in the database, entering and renewing information


The candidate will be part of a very small team so must be independent and self-motivated. He/she also:

  • has a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality
  • is well presented and able to get on with others and be a team-player 
  • is enrolled in a final year Bachelor programme (or equivalent) or a recent graduate, in the field of event management, communication, architectural history, conservation or art history
  • has excellent computer skills
  • has excellent communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English, additional language is a plus
  • is dynamic and well-organised, with great attention to detail
  • has an interest in religious heritage
  • can legally work in Belgium
