JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Assistant will be joining our team at the General Secretariat, in Brussels. The candidate will be primarily tasked with supporting the General Secretariat in running the ICEDIG project (http://www.icedig.eu) on Innovation and Consolidation for large-scale Digitisation of natural heritage. In this project, CETAF (www.cetaf.org) takes on different tasks, the main of which are to organise the communication and dissemination activities.

The successful candidate will furthermore support the General Secretariat in other projects as well as in the general activities involved in managing the CETAF network and providing services to its members. She or he will be supervised by and work closely with the General Secretary, as well as in collaboration with the rest of the CETAF team.

Specific Tasks: 

Assist with the implementation of the ICEDIG project, a project under the Horizon 2020 framework. This may include, among other tasks:

  • Project administration tasks, attendance of meetings, keeping minutes etc.
  • Design of surveys and more in-depth social research methods
  • Implementation of the Communication and Dissemination Strategy
  • Contribution to final reports
  • Organisation of events
  • Management of the project website
  • Provide content for the participation of CETAF in collaborative European and international projects and initiatives, from proposal writing to implementation and project management
  • Support in the organisation of CETAF meetings, events, General Assemblies, etc.
  • Other administrative tasks for the adequate functioning and development of the General Secretariat office and/or the Consortium

MAIN REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree, preferably in social sciences or biodiversity-related fields
  • Thorough knowledge of EU institutions and decision making processes
  • The ideal candidate will have the following specific competencies:
  1. Good knowledge of the EU structure and funding programmes (Horizon 2020 in particular)
  2. Experience in project development and proposal writing
  3. Experience in social research; qualitative and quantitative methods
  4. Computer skills including of the Microsoft Office tools
  5. Able to work well in an international environment
  6. Well-organised with an eye for detail
  7. Excellent writing skills
  8. Collaborative in nature and works well as part of a team
  • Languages: English is CETAF’s working language. Good knowledge of French and/or Dutch valuable. Other European languages an asset.
  • Knowledge of the CMS Drupal as well as of design programmes (Photoshop, InDesign or others) would be valued.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  • Start date: 14 May 2018
  • Work pattern: Part time (3 days/week, 24 hrs/week)
  • Contract: until 30 April 2020
