Project and Partnership Controller 

Main duties and responsibilities:


  • Oversee all reporting deadlines and coordinate with other members of the operations team and with relevant policy staff to ensure all funders’ requirements are met (including, for example, the European Commission, governments and private foundations).
  • Carry out the financial monitoring and reporting of the grants, ensure compliance with the EU eligibility rules of project expenditures;
  • Liaise with the project participants regarding their project administration;
  • Provide support during audit visits in relation to the projects’ implementation or reporting
  • Collecting and processing information from external project partners for financial reports 
  • Develop and implement procedures for claiming and reimbursing cost


  • Support and coordinate with relevant staff members to ensure narrative reports are delivered on time and appropriately submitted.
  • Make recommendations and provide implementation support related to EU and public funds.
  • Inducing partnerships and set up contracts as required.
  • Developing and maintaining contact with institutions, the business community and organisations, notably through public/private partnerships;

Skills & competencies

  • Knowledge of PRAG - Procedures and Practical Guide (for Procurement and Grants for European Union external actions)
  • At least five years’ experience in grant management and/or fundraising
  • Extensive experience with grant management in EU-funded projects, including narrative and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Native level of English, both in speaking and writing
  • Good practical knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong organisational skills, including multitasking and time-management, flexibility
  • Team player and efficient problem-solving capabilities, service-mindedness
