We are offering a
Post-graduate Internship, Urban Infrastructure & Technologies
(Transport & Logistics, Waste, Water & Sanitation, Low Carbon Solutions)
in the international team of ICLEI’s International Program Office in Bonn, Germany.
 
Tasks:

• Support ICLEI’s global knowledge management function, esp. gathering technological information on the impact of climate change on urban infrastructure, carbon neutral solutions, climate change adaptation
• Gathering information on technological solutions to urban challenges (esp. climate change mitigation and adaptation)
• Support the implementation of conferences
• Identify and support the cooperation with relevant experts, businesses and institutions
• Produce presentation materials incl. graphics, charts and PowerPoint slides
• Prepare results reports, fact sheets, briefing documents

 
Requirements

• Degree in a relevant subject such as Civil Engineering, Urban Technology, Town & Regional Planning, Urban Planning & Management, or similar (note that we are looking for someone with keen interest in and solid knowledge of urban infrastructure and technology, not for a generalist)
• Interest in urban planning & management, urban infrastructure, urban technologies
• Solid research skills, organized working style, creative and pro-active attitude
• Good oral communication, writing and visual presentation skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in other language(s) such as Spanish, French, German, Korean or Japanese is an asset

 
Terms and conditions
The Internship position is available from January 2010 at ICLEI’s International Program Office in Bonn, Germany. The duration will be six months. The Intern will report to the leader of the emerging knowledge and exchange team. A modest Internship salary will be paid.
