The organization

iCmedia is the Spanish Federation of Associations of Consumer and Media Users.

iCmedia embraces 14 national associations from all over Spain representing tens of thousands of citizens from all different Autonomic Communities. This citizen initiative started with the aim of encouraging the media to disseminate high quality audiovisual content, in compliance with the legislation in force. From this goal we forged our name as an “Initiative for the Quality of the Media”.

From iCmedia we work representing the consumers and users of the media, bringing special attention to the most unprotected user: the minor.

iCmedia develops its work focused on building partnerships and promoting audiovisual quality with 3 main stakeholders: Public Institutions, Professional Sector and Consumers and Users of the media.

Tasks & responsibilities

1. Policy officer tasks (60%)

  • Follow up the work on the IMCO, & CULT Committee
  • Analysis and evaluation of committee reports.
  • Eventual meetings with MEPs and EU officials
  • Follow up with the work of DG CONNECT
  • Promotion and development of European policies related to audiovisual media services.

2. Public Relations tasks (15%)

  • Covering different conferences or events related to our issues.
  • Networking and represent the organizations in several events and conferences.
  • Establishment of institutional relations with public and private entities

3. Project Management tasks (20%)

  • Design and implementation of iCmedia events and conferences.

4. Others (5%)

  • Drafting newsletters, press releases and other needed communication materials.

Requested Profile & Skills

  • Background on communication and audiovisual media services
  • Can work with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent command of English (Spanish will be an asset)
  • Knowledge of European Institutions will be an asset.


  • A meaningful working – learning experience in Brussels.
  • Access to the European Networks both political and business oriented
  • A role in which the candidate will be offered multiple opportunities for development & learning
  • Possibility to sign a learning agreement with the University
  • Transport costs provided

Starting date: 9th September 2019

Finishing date: 20th December 2019

The first month of internship will be considered as trial period. Possibility of extension.

City: Brussels

Working hours: 5 hours/day/flexible

Working venue: European Parliament.
