Liquid Gas Europe, the European LPG Association, is composed of national LPG associations; the main European LPG suppliers; LPG distributors and equipment manufacturers. With the support of its coordination and working groups of industry experts, Liquid Gas Europe is actively involved in concrete initiatives and programs to ensure the sustainable, safe and efficient development of LPG in Europe. Liquid Gas Europe's Mission is to ensure the EU policy community embrace our vision to establish LPG and renewable LPG as the alternative energy of choice supporting the EU policy agenda. 

Liquid Gas Europe seeks an ambitious, energetic and compelling Policy Officer. The successful candidate will report directly to General Manager and will be working alongside Sustainability Manager and will be responsible for:

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining  an up-to-date overview of policy developments in the area of transport, energy, climate, and others
  • Building contacts with the EU institutions, with members of LGE, and with other stakeholders
  • Coordination and preparation of relevant policy statements
  • Shaping the development and implementation of LGE advocacy strategy
  • Contributing to identification of upcoming priorities, anticipate policy challenges and opportunities and mobilise members accordingly
  • Ensuring effective communication to members and more widely through the various channels available
  • Supporting LGE general policy and project work

Requirements:

  • A successful track record of at least 3-5 years of work experience in energy policy advocacy at EU level
  • Good understanding of the EU institutions and EU decision making processes
  • A Masters degree or equivalent in science or European affairs, political science, public administration.
  • Good interpersonal skills for an international environment
  • Good organisation and coordination skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English

  • Ability to juggle competing deadlines
  • A self-starter
  • A dynamic team player who also takes full responsibility for delivering results on own work
