EuRIC is currently looking for a full-time Policy Officer to join our team from November 2018 on.

EuRIC is the Confederation representing the interests of the European recycling industries. EuRIC brings together European and national recycling associations from more than 20 EU and EFTA countries and represents their interests by acting as the trusted interface between the recycling industry and the European Union. We serve as a platform for information, cooperation and exchange of best practices on all European recycling matters. More information about EuRIC: www.euric-aisbl.eu

Responsibilities

The Policy Officer will take care in particular of the following tasks:

  • Monitoring and analysis of relevant political developments affecting the recycling industry at European level;
  • Draft policy statements, positions and relevant policy documents as well as prepare responses to public consultations based on members’ input;
  • Advocacy of positions agreed by EuRIC before the European institutions;
  • Management of relevant committees and working group activities.

Desired profile

  • University master degree in law, economics or political sciences;
  • Fluent written and spoken English and German. Knowledge of other EU languages is an asset;
  • Proactive with the ability to prioritise work, deal with a variety of topics with strict deadlines and work independently;
  • Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills;
  • Proven computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional international short-term travel.

Professional experience 

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in EU affairs;
  • Expertise in policy/regulatory issues relevant to the recycling industry (waste legislation, waste shipment regulation, circular economy, etc.) is an asset;
  • Prior professional experience in an EU institution would be a plus.
