Job Description
Gellis Communications is an independent, Brussels-based strategic communications consultancy, providing high-level communications management and advocacy services. Since 1998, we have been advising and representing the interests of corporations, trade associations, public institutions, NGOs and sovereign governments.
We are currently looking to hire a freelance consultant who is an expert in inland waterway navigation.
The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of waterway navigation policies at a national/international level, and experience in communicating with stakeholders (shippers, manufacturing/logistics industry, politicians, journalists, NGOs, commercial users, non-commercial users, etc.).
Profile:
- Relevant degree
- At least 5-7 years of experience as a policy officer involved in inland navigation at a EU Member State or in Brussels
- Some knowledge of EU platforms/programs with respect to the inland waterway navigation sector – for instance, NAIADES and PLATINA
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Ideally, Brussels-based.
Responsibilities: - Provide advice on and analysis of inland waterway navigation actors at EU level
- Assess information and communication activities on inland waterway navigation policies in Europe
- availability for punctual, short-term assignments.
