Position opening for a Policy Advisor

Three years ago, Anders Fogh Rasmussen established Rasmussen Global to provide political insights, strategic advice and influence campaigns to companies and governments on a wide range of international public policy issues. Rasmussen Global’s core mission is to continue Mr Rasmussen’s efforts in public office to support the rules-based international and democratic order; and to advance the causes of cooperation, open markets and trade.

Since its formation, the company has continued to expand with offices in Copenhagen and Brussels as well as representatives in Berlin, London and Washington DC. We are now looking to recruit an advisor to work across the policy and media teams.

Overall assignment

The Advisor will be based in our Brussels office. He/she will play a major role in supporting the research activities, policy developments and public campaigns of Rasmussen Global and its clients.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Produce high quality policy content, analysis and research – especially on trade/economic issues
  • Produce media output, including social media content and press materials
  • Helping to organise Rasmussen Global outreach activities, meetings and events
  • Maintaining Rasmussen Global’s forward planning grid and databases and assisting with other administrative tasks, as appropriate

  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in international trade/economic policy
  • A background in research or policy, with at least a basic understanding of the media landscape in at least one European state or the US
  • Solid understanding of complex international policy issues
  • Experience in project management and ability to handle various tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to write well and succinctly in English, including memos, press releases and opinion pieces
  • Flexibility and eagerness to play an active role in a team environment and fast developing firm

Additionally beneficial would be:

  • A background in the EU institutions or working for a Western government
  • Experience with producing social media content such as videos or infographics
  • Experience with the process of Britain’s departure from the EU, or with Ukraine or Russia
  • Additional languages

The post would involve some travel to our head office in Copenhagen and for assignments. Salary will be discussed based on experience.

This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to join a fast-expanding political start up and make a real difference on strategic issues.

To apply, please send a covering letter and CV to James Holtum at jah@rasmussenglobal.com, before July 25 2017.
