Job Description

For our office in Brussels, Pleon Belgium is seeking an account manager for the European Public Policy Communications team to start after the summer.

The successful candidate is an experienced media relations expert who will join the growing European Public Policy team in Brussels. He/she will have project leader responsibility to conduct pan-European media relations campaigns from Brussels across the 27 Member State.
 
The ideal candidate will have:
• at least 3-4 years of professional experience as PR manager, preferably in an agency setting
• a proven track record in management and coordination of media relations at EU level and a thorough knowledge of the European media landscape
• a thorough understanding of European policies and the workings of the EU institutions
• consultancy experience and in-depth knowledge of PR tools and techniques
• the drive to make things happen and show a ‘can do’ mentality
• good leadership, organisational and team building skills
• excellent English; fluency in French and/or further EU-languages is an important selection criterion
• specific background in health, consumer protection or employment and social affairs is an advantage
 
Responsibilities will include:
• Developing strategic advice and implementation of client strategy
• Implementing campaign tools across 27 EU Member States
• Manage a local team and coordinate a network across 27 EU Member States
• Monthly monitoring, reporting and success tracking of projects
 
This position is based in Brussels and our preference goes out to candidates that live in Brussels. Please note that this vacancy is in our European Public Policy team and not in our Public Affairs team. Our Public Policy activities focus on communications for public institutions of which, about 95% is on behalf of the European Commission towards the 27 Member States.
