This is an exciting new opportunity to join the ClientEarth team as a Partners, Risk and Compliance Lawyer. ClientEarth’s London office is its international headquarters, and is a registered UK company and charity. ClientEarth’s programme work has expanded substantially over the past few years and a significant amount of that work is delivered or facilitated through partnerships (in Europe, Africa, China, the Americas and elsewhere). Moreover, the organisation employs lawyers with legal qualification from at least 17 countries, bringing, coordinating, facilitating and supporting litigation in a number of jurisdictions. As a result of the nature and impact of our work, ClientEarth faces a number of unique risks.

In this role at ClientEarth, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the legal and contractual set-up of ClientEarth’s relationships with its partners all over the world meets programme needs and complies with relevant regulatory requirements. The post holder will also support programme staff at ClientEarth more generally to ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory and professional standards across all of ClientEarth’s programme work. And, finally, the post-holder will assist ClientEarth in continually monitoring, assessing and mitigating potential regulatory or legal risks to it and its employees.

The role will be based in ClientEarth’s Brussels office but will support programme work across all ClientEarth’s other European offices. The salary for the role starts at €3,500 gross monthly (depending on experience).

Should a more senior candidate wish to apply for this role, ClientEarth would consider hiring a Senior Lawyer – Partners, Risk and Compliance Specialist. Additional salary would be made available for a senior post-holder.

ClientEarth is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
Please note that ClientEarth will only be able to employ those who have the legal right to work in the country where this post is based.
