Your role
 
  • Manage all aspects of execution of the current communication strategy that aims at raising the visibility of the new brand amfori. This includes overseeing all internal and external communication operations: brand development and positioning, content creation, campaigns, story-telling narratives, media relations, print, advertising, events, online and social media;
  • Contribute to the issue management, identify communication opportunities as well as challenges and emerging issues and propose appropriate communication approaches;
  • Contribute to the development of an effective marketing and communication strategy to position amfori as a global leader for open and sustainable trade and deliver targeted messages to the desired audiences and design all related implementation aspects;
  • Work closely and act as a communication advisor to the local Representatives in order to ensure alignment of the global communication approach while enabling meaningful local adaptations and generate increased local visibility and reputation;
  • Manage, in close collaboration with the VP Public Affairs, all crisis communications;
  • With other Public Affairs Managers support the VP Public Affairs in designing, developing and delivering a first-class public affairs strategy to support the implementation of the vision 2030;
  • Lead the communication team and promote a culture of high performance, continuous improvement that values sharing, learning and commitment to quality, fostering collaboration within amfori and with our service providers and members.  
 
Challenges
 
  • The Marketing and Communications Manager needs to ensure that amfori has a high visibility and reputation in order to be able to effectively deliver the vision of “Trade with Purpose”;
  • The Marketing and Communications Manager ensures the delivery of effective results-oriented marketing and communication activities;
  • The Marketing and Communications Manager must ensure an inspiring and meaningful messaging of amfori to maintain and develop the interest of diverse audiences to turn them into supporters of “Trade with Purpose” and increase brand reputation. 
 
Experience
 
  • Degree level in media studies, marketing, communications studies, journalism or an equivalent specialism
  • 5-10 years experience in a communication department or an agency
  • People management experience (multi-cultural team)
  • Proven experience and success in brand development and positioning
  • Proven success in communication strategy execution  and marketing
  • Creative thinker with proven campaign experience to multiple audiences and across multiples markets
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Fluent in English and the ability to present ideas in a clear and concise way, both verbally and in writing
  • Analytical, with the ability to identify communication KPIs, interpret information, news, data and research quickly – and use data to inform the communication approach and propose new creative ideas
  •  Very good knowledge of major social media channels including Linked in and Twitter
  • Experience with crisis management
