This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain valuable, practical in-house legal experience in a unique global company operating in the commercial vehicle market. The Legal Intern will assist and deal with a broad variety of legal issues and gain an insight into the practice of law in a complex business environment. The internship is remunerated.


This role requires strong communications and analytical skills. The ideal candidate would have a keen interest in corporate/commercial law and would be:

  • fluent in English (other languages such as Dutch, French or German would be a plus)
  • detail-oriented, articulate and self-confident with good interpersonal, organization and research skills
  • able to work effectively in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
  • reliable in meeting target deadlines and able to prioritize / multitask efficiently
  • proficient in office software applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Academic / practical experience in a legal environment is also strongly preferred (e.g. successful coursework involving legal research and writing or experience in a corporate legal department or law firm).


The Legal Intern can expect to work on and drive various projects in corporate, compliance and commercial fields. The successful candidate will work closely with the WABCO Legal Team and other business units to provide assistance and advice in a wide variety of areas, including

  • reviewing and updating existing WABCO legal standard documents
  • drafting, negotiation and finalization of all types of contracts for various departments management of the legal team’s know-how files and databanks
  • research of various legal issues
  • review and analysis of existing contracts and other legal documents (e.g. to provide overview of T&C’s)
  • corporate housekeeping
  • project management and roll out of annual compliance topics (Code of Conduct certification, Ethics training, Conflict Minerals Reporting)
  • GDPR
  • various ad hoc projects
