Essential Responsibilities:
- Supporting the GE businesses in the implementation of EU regulations,
- Developing guidance for GE businesses on EU environmental regulatory initiatives and particularly REACH,
- Liaising with European business and industry associations on environmental law and policy,
- Representing GE in meetings with the European institutions, the EU Member States and regulators,
- Participating in the assessment of business and site EHS management and compliance programs.

Qualifications/Requirements
US or European law degree, with one to three years work experience,
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, command of other European languages will be considered an asset,
- Experience with legislative and regulatory interpretation,
- Excellent legal analysis and communication skills,- Interested in engineering, chemistry or other technical issues.

Desired Characteristics:
Fluency in French and/or Dutch- Experience in a legal function- Experience with international business culture
