Job Description

UITP (Union Internationale des Transports Publics) seeks an Junior Project Manager (European Projects Unit).

Working for the International Association of Public Transport at its headquarters office in Brussels, Belgium, the project manager will operate in close coordination with the UITP committees on technical but also managerial aspects of different projects mainly linked to buses.

Responsibilities will include:

      -     Project coordination: mainly managerial aspects (cost statements, audit preparation, financial and activity reports, etc.)
      -     Extraction of key information out of heavy technical report
      -     Communication and dissemination activities (newsletters, articles, etc.)
      -     Assure the link between all actors of the projects and UITP

Competencies should include:

      -     University degree (engineer, economist, etc)
      -     High interest in Public Transport required; existing experience and technical knowledge in this field is an asset
      -     Able to understand technical documents
      -     Experience in EU project management (FP7) would be an asset
      -     Sense of responsibility and capability to work on confidential and sensitive issues
      -     Excellent communication skills, capability of tact and diplomacy
      -     Ability to operate in multicultural environments and build effective working relations with members and colleagues
      -     Excellent organisational skills with sense of priorities
      -     Ability for team work and willingness to learn with a hands-on mentality
      -     Excellent computer skills (MS office package; graphics software is an asset)
      -     Fluent in written and spoken English. Good knowledge of any other official UITP language (FR, DE, ES).
      -     Willingness to travel for the final dissemination workshop(s)
