Junior Policy and Communication Officer

 

The European DIGITAL SME Alliance is the largest network of ICT small and medium sized enterprises in Europe, representing about 20.000 digital SMEs across the EU. The alliance is the joint effort of 28 national and regional SME associations from EU member states and neighboring countries to put digital SME at the center of the EU agenda. Job profile

  • Manage the organisation's social media accounts and communication campaigns under the supervision of more senior members of the team. 
  • Draft articles, press releases, social media posts and newsletters.
  • Create info-graphics and images used on website, booklets and other communication material.
  • Manage WordPress website back office: update pages, create/edit posts, etc
  • Develop and maintain the Association’s contacts database 
  • Regularly monitor policy updates and prepare weekly briefings. 
  • Contribute to draft the Association’s public statements and position papers.  
  • Participate at events, meetings and functions representing the Association and its members 
  • Prepare briefing materials for public events and meetings with the European Commission, MEPs and Permanent Representations.
  • Occasional travels within the EU

Requirements 

  • 0,5-2 years working in EU affairs ideally with some time spent working in the European Institutions (e.g. Blue Book Traineeship).
  • English: excellent level. Fluency in another language is an asset, preferably French or German

  • Excellent drafting skills in English 
  • Attitude: team player, easy going, problem solver

  • Experience with social media and press communications 
  • Experience in editing images and infographics

  • Experience with CMS, eg WordPress. Knowledge of html is a plus.  

  • Experience with Google/Facebook Ads is a plus


  • Experience with a CRM software, preferably CiviCRM, is a plus

Work Conditions

The Junior Policy and Communication Officer will be part of a young, small, dynamic and growing team. The office is located at the heart of the EU district in Brussels. Short missions abroad within the EU will be possible (up to 10% of time). The salary package will be competitive and depend on the skills and level of experience.  The employment contract will be of 2-year with possible extension into an undermined duration contract.
