EIRMA is an independent not-for-profit organization (AISBL) that provides a European
perspective on the global management of applied R&D and innovation. It engages about 100
major companies from a wide range of industrial sectors which are based in over 20 countries
in Europe.
EIRMA organizes networking, learning and best practices exchange events over the year and
maintains a knowledge base about innovation and industrial R&D for its members. It also is
involved in outreach activities with regard to some other innovation related associations as
well as the European Commission.
EIRMA is one of the founding members of the World Federation of Industrial Research
Associations (W-FIRA) encompassing USA, Japan, Brazil, Australasia, Korea and Europe.
EIRMA seeks a new Event Co-ordinator to support our Head of Programme & Members
Relations and team.
Her/his main goal will be to ensure with the Operations team that EIRMA remains a valuable
resource for our members and potential members and that our events reflect their needs and
The day-to-day responsibilities include – under the supervision of our Head of Programme &
Members Relations - the following duties:
  • Planning and organising EIRMA events (Round Tables, Special Interest Groups, CTO-Forum, Annual Conference and Committees)
  • Support on meeting contents and preparation
  • Following-up and communicating with speakers and event participants, etc.
  • Monitoring quality of events and consolidating satisfaction surveys
  • The job may require travels throughout Europe in connection to EIRMA events.
For this position, we are looking for a candidate with a University degree or equivalent and
who has at least 5 years of experience in organising events and meetings in an international
environment. She/he should have good communication and inter-personal skills. Giving the
small size of the team, it is important to have a flexible approach to world’s work.
Understanding Industrial R&D and Innovation as well as business environment is a
requirement as well.
The candidate should be a native speaker in English; reasonably proficient in French and in at
least one other European language. The candidate should be proficient in the Microsoft office
suite software and web-based IT tools.
EIRMA offers a renewable 6 month contract, starting early 2018
The contract will be linked to a contract business/enterprise training ‘Bruxelles formation’
The contract – under Belgian law - will be based on a yearly salary package of 24 KEuros,
luncheon vouchers, reimbursement of public transport and vacation.
