Technopolis |France| SARL is the French subsidiary of Technopolis |Group|, a European leader in evaluation and strategic support to the public sector for the development of public policies in the field of research, innovation, business and territorial competitiveness. The Paris office is a team of 15 + consultants, and the group gathers 120 consultants.

Our consultants undertake evaluation projects, sectoral and technical studies in France for national governments, their agencies as well as regional authorities, in particular to support the development of the research and innovation strategies. We also provide strategic support to publicly-funded organisms (clusters, technical centres). We work at European and international level, for clients such as the European Commission (DG GROW, DG RTD, DG REGIO, etc.), the European Parliament (STOA), and bi- and multilateral donors (AFD, DFID, World Bank, AfDB, UNESCO...).

Technopolis |France| is looking for a curious and enthusiastic consultant in research-innovation and economic development policies, specialising in the fields of green economy/energy to strengthen its team.

Project and missions

The main responsibilities of the consultant include the following:

  • Taking part in policy evaluations, sectoral and technical studies, strategic support and consultancy projects (timely management of tasks as part of project delivery within a dedicated project team, qualitative and quantitative analysis, field surveys, drafting of reports, realisation of interviews, value chain analysis);
  • Taking part in the acquisition activity (drafting commercial proposals, participating to proposal presentations, etc.);
  • Strengthening our methodologies, in particular in quantitative methods (counterfactual analysis, macro- economic modelling, cost/benefit analysis, evaluation of environmental impacts, financial modelling etc.).


  • The preferred candidate will have at least a Master’s level degree (e.g. economics, political sciences) complemented by competences in statistics, or a degree in engineering complemented with training or work experience in economics
  • The preferred candidate will have a good knowledge of environmental and energy related policies and topics (e.g. circular economy, sustainable energy, energy efficiency, bioeconomy, eco-innovation, sustainable mobility). The knowledge of financial instruments for the financing of energy or environmental transitions would be an asset.
  • Specific competences:
    • The position requires excellent command of IT tools to collect and process databases (Excel, Access, Stata, etc.) as well as quantitative analysis methods.
    • The candidate should have excellent writing and synthesis capabilities. Excellent command of spoken and written French, English, and Spanish is required.
  • As part of a European group, the position requires working in a multicultural environment and for international clients.
  • The consultant will work in project teams and should have excellent teamwork attitude.
  • One year of prior professional experience (international or in France) is required. Experience working in a consultancy would be a plus.

  • Contract type: Permanent position, starting 1st September 2017
  • Work Place: Paris (with business trips)
