Job Description
The Beginner invites applications for its brand new initiative called Beginners and Experts (interviewing CEOs or senior executives of successful recent start-ups and established companies). We are looking for a:
JOURNALIST
Who we are
The Beginner (http://www.thebeginner.eu/) strives to provide its readers with unique analysis on current global events from an EU perspective and to present its audience with potential business opportunities in developed and emerging regions of the world. Our international team is composed of young correspondents (journalists) deployed in different cities around the world. Their diverse backgrounds help them prepare a fresh and original analysis that becomes an important source of information and inspiration for our readers.
Main responsibilities
- Prepare interviews and reconcile them with the editor
- Secure contacts and correspond with CEOs or senior executives of successful recent start-ups and established companies
- Organise meetings and prepare interviews
Selection criteria
We are looking for someone with a strong sense of initiative, responsibility and autonomy.
Essential criteria
- Ideal candidates will be either in their last year of university studies or recent graduates
- Experience in journalism is desirable
- Excellent English writing and speaking skills
- A good network of acquaintances (CEOs or senior executives of successful recent start-ups and established companies)
- Excellent computer knowledge (MS Office)
- Work well independently and within deadlines
Additional assets
Formal qualification in reporting and editing / English
Contractual conditions
The selected Journalist will have to prepare at least one interview every two weeks. S/he will be remunerated for each interview.
