Job Description

The IT intern will carry out the following tasks. In addition to these, there is the possibility for the intern to get involved with projects which specifically interest them.

  • Assisting in the upkeep of the existing websites and creating new web pages
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the network and server, both hardware and software. Software used includes Symantec Backup Exec, Active Directory, IIS 6.0.
  • Management of email server and spam filter software (Microsoft Exchange and Postini).
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the databases (SQL server and Access)
  • Management of IT intern knowledge base.
  • Providing support/training to staff in the use of various applications (Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Sharepoint)
  • Providing support to staff members in the use of computers and software
  • Selection and purchase of new hardware, followed by installation and software customization.

The candidate should be an undergraduate or recent graduate with the following attributes:

  • Good spoken and written English to be easily understood
  • A keen work ethic
  • Be well-organised and able to work systematically.
  • Ready to gain true experience in a business environment
