Tasks
Tasks of the Intern – Project Manager are carried out in cooperation with and under the direct supervision of the Partners, co-founders of the non profit association:
- Contribute to studies for the European Commission and the United Nations undertaken during the period covered by the internship.
- Participate in the drafting of proposals to the European Commission
- Collect and analyse justice best practices, perform a market research, and define a promotion and a strategy
- Support business development activities and identification of concrete business and consultancy opportunities.
Profile
- Background in social sciences, quantitative and qualitative sciences
- Experience in evaluation highly valued
- Strong interest for European Affairs and thorough knowledge of the functioning of the European Institutions.
- Team player
- Ability to work autonomously under sharp deadlines
- Strong command of English (the working language of Effectius). Knowledge of other languages (German, Spanish or Chinese) is an advantage.
Period
January until June 2010. Office located in Brussels. Other periods or working arrangements (home-based work) can be discussed.
Organisation
Effectius (Effective Justice Solutions) is an international non for- profit project aimed at identifying, promoting and fostering the exchange of justice best practices and of effective justice solutions. It was developed at the beginning of 2009 in the wake of a UNODC study related to the efficiency of criminal justice systems. It involves the establishment of a global network of Justice experts, Justice government officials, Justice policy specialists and businesses creating solutions in the domain of Justice and registers about 100 best practices. Effectius uses a unique format that fosters the exchange of best practices following a cooperative model.

- E-justice
- Access to justice
- Alternative dispute resolution
- Corruption
