Internship (DE/EU)

As a Policy Intern with a focus on German and EU policy, you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of work as part of a growing business. With a keen eye for detail, bags of energy, and a can-do attitude, you’ll enjoy juggling multiple tasks. You’ll have native-level German, with a good standard of English, and a strong knowledge of the EU political system.

What you’ll do

You’ll learn how to monitor and analyse German EU policy on a daily basis to keep our clients informed of legislative developments as they happen. You’ll use your policy knowledge to help create our popular daily and weekly e-mails and special reports, as well as being active on our social media channels. We’ll also train you to write concise summaries of policy debates. Full professional proficiency in German is therefore a must.

Skills you’ll demonstrate

You'll have an understanding of the German political system and a passion for policy as well as politics.

We’re looking for policy and client-focussed team players and you’ll need to remain calm under pressure. In practice, this means you enjoy helping people and will be excited by the idea of learning fast on your feet and taking on responsibility quickly. You’ll naturally look for solutions rather than problems.

You’ll have an analytical mind and enjoy ‘joining up the dots’ between policy areas. A positive attitude at this stage of your career is more important than experience, although we would expect you to demonstrate an understanding of the EU legislative process and have a passion for policy that goes beyond your studies. You’ll enjoy being part of a small team and be sociable.

You’ll be able to demonstrate independence through your previous paid work experience (part-time is fine – our Co-Founders have worked in shops, supermarkets, bowling alleys, and call centres).

For this internship position we are more interested in your character and how you learn rather than where you studied.

About us

We’ve grown from two people with an idea working out of Berlin, to a successful, highly-respected, and established player in Brussels. You’ll need a mature approach to work as you’ll enjoy the concept of self-management and strive to consistently exceed expectations. We’ll support you every step of the way. You’ll also love change.

Have you got what it takes?

If so, please send us a motivational letter of no more than 150 words explaining why we should invite you to an interview, along with your CV. You’ll need to write directly to us rather than send a generic covering letter.
