FTI Consulting’s Public Affairs practice is looking for an intern to support the work of its leadership team. The position is based in Brussels, Belgium.

Who are we?

Our practice is a diverse, multinational team of more than 500 public affairs and communications experts operating from over 15 countries, advising clients in a wide range of sectors on how to navigate public policy and regulatory challenges at national, regional and global level. 

With the support and expertise of the other practices of our Strategic Communications segment, we help our clients build engagement strategies and establish sustainable relationships with policymakers, interest groups, investors, the media, civil society and other stakeholders.

What does the work involve?

As an intern with the leadership team, you will support senior colleagues in building and implementing domestic, regional and global business plans for FTI’s Public Affairs practice, developing integrated services offers across FTI segments and services, and will be involved in general day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities in this role include:

  • Work alongside senior colleagues on building and implementing the practice’s strategy and development plans;
  • Support senior management in developing new services and business opportunities for the practice and FTI in general;
  • Help coordinate and align the work of FTI’s Public Affairs offices across the globe;
  • Organize external and internal meetings and events, including logistics and follow-up;
  • General duties and day-to-day operations support (research, presentations, etc.).

What Are We Looking For?

  • Strong academic background
  • Good understanding of global politics and economics
  • Good, cross-sector understanding of private sector interests and problematics
  • Prior experience or interest in public affairs, communications and consultancy work in general
  • Appetite for strategy and business development work
  • Strong analytical, writing, presentation and networking skills
  • Efficient time management, ability to multi-task and deal with changing priorities
  • Fluent English, proficiency in at least one other language preferred
  • Team spirit, polyvalence and determination
