Job Description

ISIS Europe is recruiting a full-time intern (Programme Associate) to work in our Brussels Office.
The position is available from January for a period of 4-6 months (with a one month probationary period).
Candidates should have a Masters university degree in international relations, ESDP or related subject and have a proven background in researching and writing on security issues, especially in a European context.
Knowledge of the EU institutions is a necessity and work experience in one of the EU institutions is a definite asset. Candidates should have undertaken a previous internship in Brussels, have office experience, be computer proficient and have a sound knowledge of all Microsoft programmes – Word, Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint (candidates that do not must undertake self training courses before commencing the internship). Candidates must be fluent in English and French.
Candidates must show initiative and also be willing to adapt to work in a small organisation.
Responsibilities will include some administrative and clerical duties as well as providing research assistance to ISIS Europe staff. The intern may also have the opportunity to research and contribute to the ESR; and to attend conferences and network in areas that fall within the framework of ISIS Europe’s programme areas (this internship will likely cover the Responding to Conflict portfolio of ISIS Europe). The intern will also attend either the AFET committee or SEDE sub-committee in the European Parliament.
