Job Description
The European Volunteer Centre (CEV) is a European umbrella association of currently 67 National and Regional Volunteer Centres across Europe, that together work to support and promote voluntary activity. CEV channels the collective priorities and concerns of its member organisations to the institutions of the European Union. It also acts as a central forum for the exchange of policy, practice and information on volunteering in Europe.
CEV is offering a full-time internship for the duration of minimum 4 months. The successful candidate will be working at CEV’s office in Brussels together with the Director, the Policy and Project Officer and the Policy and Communication Assistant.
The main tasks will be:
- Assisting with daily administrative tasks;
- Assisting with policy work: research on European policies having an impact on volunteering, specifically the economic value of volunteering and employee volunteering and assisting in drafting of official documents;
- Attending meetings at European institutions, organisations and other relevant internal and external events/ conferences; writing reports on meetings;
- Assisting with research on volunteering in Europe;
- Updating of databases and internet site;
- Helping with the organisation the CEV General Assembly conference ‘Corporate Volunteering’;
- Contributing to the monthly CEV newsletter;
- Contributing to the further development CEV’s public relations and external communication strategy
We are looking forward to welcome an enthusiastic team player willing to work on his/her own initiative, preferably with a university degree, knowledge of and/or experience in the European institutions and policies with impact on volunteering, communication policy experience as well as good administrative and IT skills. An excellent knowledge of English is required, a good knowledge of French or Dutch is desirable, and any other language is an asset. You should have experience in volunteer engagement and be passionate about European social, educational and cultural policies.
