EUREKA is an intergovernmental network that promotes and supports transnational research and development activities, many involving small businesses and large industry .  T o support EUREKA’s mission of strengthening industrial competitiveness through innovation, the EUREKA Secretariat, based in Brussels, is looking for an experienced Web Developer to plan, develop, test,  deploy ,  and maintain Web applications. 
Web application development
  • Deliver support for the setup and maintenance of tools developed by the ESE to guarantee the services to be provided, notably:
    • participating in the development of web and software applications, reporting tools, user interfaces and back-end databases;
    • integrating new modules within the new Intranet Portal of the EUREKA Network;
    • designing and maintaining the interface to the database including security access.
  • Ensure the continuity and availability of the organisation’s websites;
  • Participate in the elaboration of ICT strategies to support EUREKA activities;
  • Keep him/herself informed of the latest web technological developments in order to continuously offer up-to-date knowledge.
  • Proper functioning (planning, development, follow up, maintenance, improvement) of all applications developed within the organisation and for the necessary support towards users.
  • Analysis and programming of new applications on request.
  • Delivering complete front end applications; problemsolving and debugging;
  • Writing tested, idiomatic, and documented JavaScript, HTML and CSS;
  • Writing tested, idiomatic, backend code (Java + Groovy/Grails);
  • Integrating RESTful API’s inside a Microservice-based architecture;
  • Implementing and participating in the improvement of the general IT Architecture;
  • Conducting user-acceptance testing;
  • Writing detailed documentation for the operation of the program by users and computer operators.


  • Experience in implementing complex web application; 
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Experience in developing Web Services and evolving in a SOA/Microservice environment;
  • Experience in full-stack development, AngularJS preferred;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong relationship management skills, enthusiastic & self-driven, with a high degree of commitment;
  • ingenuity and creativity;
  • logical approach to problem solving;
  • ability to work under pressure;
  • attention to detail;
  • tenacity and patience;
  • ability to convey information to non-technical colleagues in a clear way;
  • understanding of enterprises’ business processes and constraints.
