The Israel Public Policy Institute (IPPI) offers young leaders from Germany an opportunity to participate in a Fellowship Program in cooperation with the German-Israeli Future Forum and the Civil Service Commission in Israel (CSC) on the theme: "The Future of Work in the Public Sector".

The fellow will work in collaboration with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Israel, Israel's governmental body responsible for the strategic planning on the public workforce, on issues relating to digital transformation in the public sector. The fellow will identify trends in the changing nature of the workforce in the public sector and will contribute to Israeli's government workforce strategic planning by developing new concepts for harnessing the benefits of digitalisation opportunities. 

During the fellowship, the fellow will be able to exchange with relevant government agencies, civil society actors and research institutions. 

The fellowship program offers an immediate insight into the political landscape of Israel and is ideal for young academics interested in international perspectives and practice-oriented research. The program also provides the Fellows with an opportunity to work side by side with some of Israel's leading policy experts and gain firsthand professional experience while learning about the central challenges facing the country.

The fellow will be expected to write a policy paper formulating recommendations for action at the policy level. The policy paper will aim at informing government agencies, civil society actors and research institutions on ways of dealing with the challenges brought about by digitalisation in the changing world of work in both Israel and Germany. 

The program:

When: October - December 2018
Where: Tel Aviv and Jerusalem
Remuneration: 1,000 € per month
Deadline for applications: 15.07.2018

Selection Criteria:

  • Academic degree
  • Professional experience in the field of labor and / or innovation policy is beneficial
  • Ability to write short research papers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • German citizenship
