Job Description
1. Generic responsibilities:
Prepare and implement managerial decisions related to the achievement of corporate Strategic Objectives; the organisational arrangements for the Unit; the resource parameters to efficiently deliver services/products as per the Partnership and Communication Unit mandate; the managerial arrangements to improve relations with the EU at the country level.
2. Specific responsibilities:
In addition to the duties listed above, the incumbent will assist in:
- Updating the corporate vision and strategy for the development of the EU/WHO EURO cooperation;
- Planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation of related activities;
- Fostering of relations with the representatives of EU Member States, the EU Presidencies and the Council of the EU;
- Fostering of relations with specific EC institutions, departments or agencies and with Brussels based stakeholders from the private sector, civil society and other interested parties;
- Preparing briefing papers, discussion notes and overviews on related matters, for internal and external partners;
- Other duties as assigned by the EURO Representative to the EU.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Essential: Advanced university degree (at the level of Master) in Health Sciences, international relations or political sciences.
Desirable: Postgraduate specialisation at the level of PHD in any of the above. Master in European Studies

Functional skills and knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of the EU policies and institutions.
Other skills (e.g. IT):
Proven PC literacy. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience:
Essential: At least 7 years professional experience in the public health area at the international level.
Desirable: Working experience within the World Health Organisation and/or the European Commission.
Languages:
Essential: A very good command of the English language and a good working knowledge of French, German or Russian Additional Information:
