Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), a pioneer in higher education services in India with a sixty-year old legacy, has increasingly become the preferred destination for students and scholars across the globe. Over 28,000 students from 57 different nations live and learn in the sprawling varsity town, which provides excellent infrastructure catering to various disciplines in health sciences, engineering, management, communication, social sciences and humanities. Situated along the coast in Udupi district of Karnataka State and nestled in the foothills of the UNESCO world-heritage site, Western Ghats, the Institution opens up to an ideal environment for academic activities, sports, and leisure.

About the project:
CLIL@India is a three-year project co-funded by the Erasmus Program of the European Union to introduce CLIL methodology and pedagogy in India. The aim of the project is to adapt the CLIL approach to the Indian context, and pilot CLIL modules in primary schools – both public and private. The project will also disseminate knowledge to relevant stakeholders such as academics, educational non-profit organisations, and policy makers. The project is run by a consortium of four Indian universities and three European universities, led by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). Our Indian partners are: Chitkara University (Punjab), Symbiosis International (Deemed University) (Maharashtra) and Pondicherry University (Puducherry). Our European partners are: L'Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy), Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (Spain) and Latvijas Universitāte (Latvia).

Minimal Requirements

  • PhD preferably in Education Science or Linguistics, management or equivalent
  • 5 years working experience preferably in the field of education
  • Leadership, managerial skills and ability to finalize tasks within deadlines
  • Willing to relocate to Manipal
  • Motivated and with excellent communication skills;
  • English at native fluency level – knowledge of CLIL@India target languages as asset
  • Experience in work activities conducted in multicultural environment
  • Flexibility in work duties
  • Ability to combine individual and team work
  • Project Management competence
  • Work experiences related to CLIL (added advantage)

Roles and responsibility:

  • Responsible to implement the guidelines of the CLIL@India Management Board
  • Ensure that the obligation of the funding agency – EACEA – related to the utilization of the grant are fulfilled
  • Organize events (vocational trainings, workshop, conferences)
  • Coordinate a team of young Research Associates
  • Create innovative learning materials in the projects’ target languages
  • Coordinate a field research on CLIL implementation in Indian secondary schools
  • Ensure the productivity of the CLIL Resource and Training Centre at Manipal University, and its satellite centers at Chitkara University, Symbiosis International University and Pondicherry University
