Fondation EurActiv #Media4EU  is a public service foundation, established in 2004 and based in Belgium, dedicated mostly to promoting Innovation in the Media.  See more About Fondation.

The foundation acts primarily to bring together individuals and stakeholders/media organisations in the media and policy circles. It is autonomous from the EURACTIV Policy Media Network, and shares with it a brand and related values: media independence and transparency as standards, languages and efficiency as aspirations, and being pro-European. Fondation benefits from EURACTIV’s know-how, and also had/has prestigious own partners like Robert Bosch Stiftung, Gates foundation, EU Commission and Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie, and also a number of media stakeholders and universities.

Fondation EurActiv is embarking on a new growth path, around the motto ‘media innovation across Europe’, with three related pillars:

-       Media policy
See for example recent blog posts on fake news, and on a European strategy for the media sector.
Christophe Leclercq, the Founder, is a member of the EU High Level Expert Group on fake news

-       Media innovation (events, networks, etc)
A past partner of the flagship event Future Media Lab (sessions on translated syndication), Fondation may organise a related event, with Difference Day, on the World Press Freedom Day.

-       Executive training Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Following the 2016/2017 #Media4EU research project and “Tour d’Europe”, Fondation has initiated the media executive training and exchange project @stars4media (voted in October 2017 by the European Parliament budget committee).
