As our European Policy Manager it is your responsibility to support the delivery of key public policy objectives, particularly in relation to government policy development in key markets and the EU. You will be given the autonomy to lead on specific policy issues across easyJet’s markets and with the EU.

Key Responsibilties: 

  • Leading on government policy development in key easyJet markets and working on European Union policy development. This will include:
  •  Working with internal teams to develop easyJet’s positions on government policy issues to ensure they support business objectives, in particular working closely with our Markets, Communications and Operations team.
  • Developing evidence to support easyJet’s positions and objectives.
  • Carrying out financial modelling where appropriate
  • Presenting easyJet’s policy views to government officials and the European Union.
  • Drafting papers setting out easyJet positions on government/EU policy and responding to consultations, including in a language other than English.
  • Supporting easyJet’s Brexit strategy, in particular working with other airlines and influencing EU Member States
  • Working closely with our European airline association – Airlines for Europe – to ensure that its objectives reflect easyJet’s – this will including being easyJet’s representative on several association working groups
  • Identifying opportunities for easyJet to pro-actively influence government policy. 
  • Ensuring easyJet teams are aware of any risks from potential changes to government policy.
  • Due to the nature of the role significant European travel will be required.

Requirements of the Role

  • A strong interest  / passion for Government & EU policy 
  • Good written skills
  • Comfortable building internal and external relations at all levels of seniority. 
  • Ability to work in teams across an organisation
  • Knowledge of at least one European language other than English, with an ability to draft documents in that language
  • Understanding of the financial and commercial imperatives that drive a business such as easyJet
  • Strong analytical skills, ideally including financial analysis skills
  • A self starter comfortable with independent working 

Whilst we are based at London Luton Airport, this role does require extensive travel therefore we can be flexible on location.
