The Turkish Research and Business Organisations office (TuR&Bo) is an international non-profit association (AISBL) set up in Brussels in 2004 by four prominent public and private sector Turkish institutions that represent the research and business domains, i.e.  TOBB (The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey), TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey), KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organisation) and TESK (The Confederation of Tradesmen and Craftsmen of Turkey).

Responsibilities of a European Advisor:

  • Closely monitoring the latest developments in the European Research Area and provide policy advice to TuR&Bo and its stakeholders;
  • Developing strategic analysis in terms of Turkey's participation to relevant EU programmes; such as EU Research and Innovation Framework Programmes (Horizon 2020) and COSME;
  • Strengthening joint communications, advocacy capacities of TuR&Bo and lobby the European Commission for stakeholder and TuR&Bo interests;
  • Support capacity building of individuals and institutions of Turkish Research and Innovation Community;
  • Writing technical reports, guidelines and other materials;
  • Organizing and assisting conferences and events on behalf of TuR&Bo;

Candidates are expected to hold:

  • A Master's degree or higher;
  • Sound knowledge of the European Institutions and decision making process;
  • Knowledge of the European Policies within the scope of the Lisbon Strategy, with a focus on “Research and Technological Development”;
  • Experience in European project management (specifically the EU Framework Programs: FP7, Horizon 2020 or COSME) would be an asset;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken (Knowledge of Turkish and French/Dutch would be an asset);
  • 3 years of relevant working experience;
  • A serious and professional team spirit;
  • Work permission in Belgium.
