The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) EU Office, based in Brussels, is currently looking for a:
EU Funding Project Officer (Maternity Leave Cover)
to join the small and dynamic EU Project development and funding team.
 
The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung EU Office, with its headquarters in Brussels and activities in Brussels and Stras-bourg, was opened in 1973. The Friedrich-Ebert Foundation EU Office participates in the European integra-tion process, backs and accompanies the interests of the Federal Republic of Germany in Europe and con-tributes to shaping the external relations of the European Union.
The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung EU Office uses a variety of different means to achieve its objectives: public conferences, closed expert seminars, visitor programmes and working visits for foreign guests, along with various publications such as the “Brussels Focus” information sheets.
Since 2014 it has an EU Funds unit, which is in charge of monitoring EU funding opportunities within Europe and worldwide and accompany the more than one hundred international FES country offices around the world in their proposal submission process.

Tasks:
  • Tracking of relevant calls for proposals and other funding opportunities;
  • Compilation of background information on EU funding strategies and opportunities for FES coun-try offices,
  • Supporting and consulting FES countries offices during the project development and application process,
  • Contracting consultant-writers incl. tender process,
  • Creating and maintaining internal guidelines/assisting documents for funding applications,
  • Planning and conducting workshops for project development and project inception in the respec-tive project countries as necessary,
  • Support of EU-backstopping team in Berlin and country offices before submission of interim and final reports as necessary,
  • Development of the unit with regards to further funding opportunities i.e. EU Service Contracts, internal EU-instruments (H2020, Erasmus+, Europe for Citizens etc.).
Essential Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in EU funding (fundraising and proposal writing);
  • Excellent knowledge of English (C2);
  • Bachelor Degree.
Desirables Requirements
  • Good knowledge of EU Internal Funding Programmes (H2020, Erasmus+, Europe for Citizens, EaSI, AMIF, REC, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of EU Service Contract procedures
  • Good knowledge of German, French or Spanish
