About Metal Packaging Europe

Metal Packaging Europe is a Brussels-based industry association, which brings together more than 200 manufacturers, suppliers and their national associations, to promote the benefits of rigid metal packaging at European level.

About the role:

We are looking for an EU advocacy and research intern for a six-month internship.

Your tasks:

  • Research and draft background materials on EU policy and activities;
  • Support the advocacy team in monitoring closely and preparing regular news summaries and updates on EU policies and institutions, as well as EU member state developments;
  • Review and prepare summaries and analysis of EU policy documents;
  • Prepare and attend advocacy meetings, participate to conferences and events and prepare event reports and meeting notes;
  • Provide assistance for the organization of events and projects;
  • Provide general administrative support.


  • Degree in a related field, preferably European studies, Economics, Law, Political Science
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken). Any additional EU language will be an asset.
  • Basic knowledge about European policy making
  • Experience in EU advocacy and legal research is an advantage
  • Pro-active ‘hands-on’ approach to work to manage a number of simultaneous tasks
  • Strong research skills with an eye for detail and high degree of accuracy
  • High level of flexibility and willingness to support other staff members with their tasks and general office administration, where necessary
  • Autonomous, efficient, flexible and team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office

The internship is a paid full-time position

The candidate will also be provided with a laptop and a mobile phone.
