Job Description

The European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) aims to be Europe’s leading centre of excellence on European integration and the new challenges for public management. We provide high-quality opportunities for learning and development as well as advice and support for EU Institutions, public administrations and other organisations.

EIPA has three Centres:
the European Centre for Judges and Lawyers in Luxembourg, the European Centre for the Regions in Barcelona and the European Centre for Public Financial Management in Warsaw.
 
EIPA has a vacancy in its Unit on European Decision-Making for a:
Researcher (F/M)
Full-time and based in Maastricht
Fixed-term contract for 2 years
 
Job description:

- management of EIPA’s framework contracts with the EU Institutions;
- training and research on EU decision-making.
EIPA has five framework contracts for the provision of training and consultancy services for the EU institutions in the sphere of EU Governance. The main responsibility of the person recruited will be to assist in the practical coordination of these activities, under the direction of the overall programme manager (the Head of Unit). The tasks will largely be of a managerial nature, but involve both permanent contacts with European academic networks as well as personal interaction with the services of the EU institutions, bodies and agencies.
In addition, the person recruited will contribute to other EIPA training and research projects on EU decision-making.
 
Requirements / profile
 
The successful candidate will have
• a university degree (Master) plus at least 2 years of relevant professional experience and/or postgraduate studies
• good knowledge and direct familiarity with the EU institutions;
• familiarity with academic networks involved in issues of EU governance;
• fluency (spoken and written) in at least one of the two working languages (English and French) and a good understanding of the other;
• proven competence in project management
• excellent communication skills;
• proven analytical and writing skills;
• ability to work in a team
• preferably the nationality of one of the EU member states, of the candidate countries to the EU, or one of the EEA countries.
 
Conditions of employment
 
The successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract of employment for two years.
