The position will be based in Brussels, and require rising at the headquarter in Allendorf (Eder) and elsewhere depending on projects.

Viessmann has newly decided to expand its public affairs department to match its geographical growth and feed into the strategy of the Group. Viessmann has pledged to contribute to the full decarbonisation of heating and cooling by 2050 in a cost-effective and people centric way. The challenge is to co-create a policy environment that will secure growth and jobs, radically reshape living comfort and energy use to the benefits of people and ensure a competitive advantage for Viessmann. 

Your role

The Data and Public Funding Manager will report to the head of Group Public Affairs. You will support the Public affairs team and Colleagues across functions in two ways: (1) you will generate facts and data underlying the contribution of Viessmann to policy making and (2) seek public funding in support of Viessmann innovation and product developments.

You will be responsible for:

  • Understanding the public funding ecosystem in the field of research and innovation at EU and national level 
  • Getting additional source of revenues from public funding in support of Viessmann research and innovation projects and product developments
  • Liaising with research and innovation teams and sharing intelligence gathered from EU and national research projects or partnerships opportunities
  • Interacting with the public affairs and sustainability teams to generate data and figures substantiating our policy asks
  • Coordinating input to external studies or projects to defend the vision and interest of Viessmann and secure the quality of the underlying scenarios, calculations and energy modeling, starting with:
  •      a study on cogeneration co-financed by Viessmann within Cogen Europe
  •      feeding input into the IEA upcoming energy efficiency market report and into the Joined Research Centre research project on the digitalization of heating and cooling 
  • Support our analysis on the energy renovation and the “early” retrofit of aging oil and gas boilers, incl. barriers, micro and macro-economic benefits, impact of subsidy schemes, interaction with building renovation passports, energy performance certificates, long term renovation strategies and the nZEB 2050 goal

Your profile and qualifications

  • Degree in Economics, Political Science or Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge in data management and energy scenarios, possibly also life cycle assessments
  • Knowledge of public funding schemes at EU and/or national level, such as Horizon Europe or FCH JU 
  • Understanding of the energy and climate policy framework at EU and/or national level, preferably also of building related policies
  • Experience in engineering and sales a significant plus
  • Experience in replying to call for proposals a significant plus
  • Proven business mindset and track record in delivering results
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues and build bridges between policy makers and business representatives 
  • Excellent communication, networking and drafting skills and attention to details
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines including under time pressure and an ability to multitask
  • Team player skills with a strong desire to bring added value and make things happen
  • Fluent in English and German mandatory
