Job Description
For EuroparlTV (web television of the European Parliament), Mostra Communication in Brussels is looking for full-time, in-house translators into Czech, Danish and Latvian, to join a linguistic team of 22.
The main task of the team members is to localise TV programmes into their mother tongue through subtitling and off-camera commentaries (voice-overs). Other tasks include quality assurance of freelancer files, translation of scripts and web-based texts, as well as providing linguistic support to our journalists during recording and editing sessions.
We are seeking candidates with a relevant educational background and the following skills:
- A keen interest in the European Parliament, the European Union, its institutions and policies.
- Flawless mastery of their mother tongue, a standard native accent and a good recording voice.
- Proficiency in English and working knowledge of French. Knowledge of any additional EU languages is an asset.
A first experience in journalism/copywriting, translating/interpreting or subtitling/dubbing is a definite plus.
We offer a full-time indefinite contract and the opportunity to participate in a very challenging project. The necessary training is provided.
