Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council, is both the forum and voice of the European chemical industry. It aims to maintain and develop a prosperous chemical industry in Europe by promoting the best possible economic, social and environmental conditions to bring benefits to society.

Cefic is located in Auderghem and employs more than 160 people.

To strengthen one of its departments, Cefic is actively looking for a temporary replacement (m/f) due to maternity leave

 Communications Manager Research & Innovation

Period: from Q2 2017 till Q4 2017 included

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities consist of:

  • Managing the R&I Communication team and budget
  • Managing the communication activities of SusChem and the LRI programme
  • Developing and implementing strategic communication action plans for research & innovation issues
  • Monitoring and analysing R&I broad policy issues
  • Drafting key messages, one-pagers, leave-behinds and press releases
  • Coordinating the department’s communication activities and follow-up on various communication tools for internal and external audiences
  • Serving as the R&I liaison with Corporate Communication
  • Having general oversight of communication work packages of EU-funded projects (Horizon2020) and guiding communication team and R&I Managers on the delivery of commitments
  • Developing and implementing communication plans for events and campaigns in cooperation with R&I Managers
  • Supporting the Executive Director on communication issues

Requirements:

  • Master degree in Communication
  • Previous professional working experience in communication
  • Mastery of newest communication tools, concepts, trends
  • Excellent level of English, written and spoken; knowledge of other languages is an asset
  • Being accurate and passion for conscientious work
  • Being proactive, showing initiative and ability for multitasking
  • Flexible person with excellent planning, organizational & communication skills
  • Team-player and ability to work independently is a must
  • Curious, fast learning and ability to think ahead
