Communications Intern
Job Description
A 3 days a week placement for a 3 month period is offered to conduct a market research project to inform the development of a new website and external communications programme across the UK. The placement will be based at the Trust's offices in Kentish Town, London.
Anne Frank has become one of the most well known victims of the Nazi Holocaust. The diary Anne wrote while in hiding has been read by tens of millions of people around the world and carries a strong moral message and warning from history.
The Anne Frank Trust UK draws on the power of Anne Frank's life and diary to challenge prejudice and reduce hatred, encouraging people to embrace positive attitudes, responsibility and respect for others. The Trust engages with more than 70,000 individuals each year in schools, colleges, prisons, young offenders institutions and community venues across the UK.
The Communications Intern will use the results of the market research to prepare and deliver a proposal to the senior management team for the structure of a new website and communications programme. He/she will write the brief and conduct research to support the appointment of an individual or organisation to develop the website.
The intern will be expected to have and apply the following core competences in the course of their work:
- A strong understanding of different methods of marketing and communications and current web technology
- Good written and spoken English
- Good research skills
- Support for the charity's mission and aims
- A pleasant and confident telephone and face to face manner
- Self motivated and good organisational skills
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Familiarise themselves with the charity's structure, projects, activities and stakeholders groups
- Understand the structure and rationale of the current website and external communications programme
- Analyse the current website visitor statistics
- Prepare and work to an agreed operational plan for conducting the research within a specific time frame
- Prepare the research format and questions
- Conduct telephone and face to face interviews with an agreed number of representatives of key stakeholder groups
- Report findings and recommendations to the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer
- Write the brief and conduct research to support the appointment of an individual or organisation to develop the website
Salary: Unpaid position with £5 daily lunch allowance and travel within Zone 6
