The European Disability Forum (EDF) is seeking an enthusiastic and committed team member to be responsible for our Communications and Awareness raising work in the project Justice for All, based in our secretariat in Brussels. The European Disability Forum is an independent NGO that defends the interests of over 80 million Europeans with disabilities. We are a unique platform which brings together representative organisation of persons with disabilities from across Europe. We are run by persons with disabilitiesand their families. We are a strong, united voice of persons with disabilities in Europe.

REPORTS TO: External Communications Officer

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To ensure a robust communication of the project “Just4All”, a 3 year project which aims to enhance education of lawyers and notaries to the specific legal needs of persons with disabilities.


All tasks are to be implemented on the basis of decisions adopted by the JUST4All project partners and the EDF governing bodies. 

  • Implementation of the communication activities and project reporting for the Just4all project
  • Development and coordination of communication and awareness raising elements of the project including:
    • Represent EDF in project meetings and seminars as needed.
    • Develop and implement the communications plan of the project.
    • Map and create contact lists of relevant partners and stakeholders
    • Create and maintain the project website and relevant media channels.
    • Prepare actions and materials to promote events and outputs of the project
    • Promote and support preparation of Massive Open Online Course
    • Promote and support preparation of database with about legislation and jurisprudence and a terms glossary
    • Manage two awareness raising campaigns on the topic
    • Undertake a collection of good practices
    • Develop and implement other information campaigns on specific project themes;
  • Ensure visibility of EDF and partners as appropriate in all publications and conferences
  • Collaborate with external actors such as the EU institutions, other civil society organisations, or industry stakeholders to promote initiatives during the project.
  • Other actions needed to successfully conclude the project.

Undertake other tasks at the request of the EDF Director according to the needs of EDF

Our ideal candidate has:

  • strong communication (written and oral) skills in English;
  • experience in managing websites and social media, and awareness raising campaigns
  • experience in developing accessible formats of communication tools such as brochures and web articles;
  • ability to work in a team and independently in his/her area of responsibility;
  • ability to work effectively in a multinational environment with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • ability to accept and integrate feedback from a range of partners;
  • ability to produce high quality communication tools within a set timeframe:
  • commitment to EDF’s values and goals.

Experience in working in the field of disability or the area of justice and human rights is an advantage. Other European languages including sign languages an advantage.

Gross starting salary: 1.800 euros per month plus benefits plus benefits
