The European Microfinance Network’s (EMN) mission is to promote microfinance in Europe as a tool to fight social and economic exclusion and to promote micro entrepreneurship and self-employment. EMN has 90 member organisations in 22 European countries.

EMN is currently seeking to appoint a person to assist the Communications Officer with EMN communications, including the management of the EMN website and databases, and to assist the Events and Capacity Building Officer with administrative aspects of various European projects.


To support the implementation of EMN’s communication and administrative activities, according to the EMN work plan.


To manage and support the revision of the EMN website

  • Support the set-up of the new Content Management System CMS (Drupal), including exporting content, as required,
  • Regularly upload content to the website in the form of publications, news, events, media, and others;
  • Regularly update the content of the website’s informative pages on topics related to microfinance in Europe, to the members of the Network, to the Board and the team, to website links and others;

To support communication between the EMN Secretariat and its members

  • Implement and develop an internal CRM tool (data base);
  • Support the management of data bases, including providing clean-up of CRM databases.

To improve and support the communication and social media strategy

  • Boost and cooperate in the management of Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook accounts;
  • Implement and develop the communication strategy in order to increase social media activity and the community.

Manage administrative aspects of various European projects

  • Prepare contractual and administrative documents for project experts and speakers,
  • Liaise with experts and speakers to communicate assignment conditions,
  • Manage and process invoices, reimbursements and related documents according to project requirements,
  • Maintain order in project folders, documents and paperwork both hard and soft copies,
  • Compile and prepare documents and invoices for project reporting phases

Support the EMN team with other tasks upon request

These responsibilities are not of a limitative character, but might evolve over time and are defined together with the candidate and the EMN Secretariat.


  • English proficiency is a must (native or near-native fluency); Good level of French is an asset;
  • Knowledge of the management of CRM software, ideally CiviCRM or similar;
  • Strong capabilities in website management (CMS), ideally Drupal;
  • Knowledge of SEO-SEM tools;
  • Mastering of social media and social platforms;
  • Mastering of MS-Office package (Word and Excel);
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with precise attention to detail;
  • Good organisational and time management skills;
  • Positive and open-minded work attitude, both for team work and independent work;
  • Ability to cope with diverse tasks in an organised and timely manner;
  • Legally able to work in the EU+28.


The candidate will be based at EMN’s offices in Brussels (Rue de l’Industrie, 10) and will be offered an internship contract (convention d'immersion professionnelle).
