Nuclear Transparency Watch (NTW) is a European network that promotes a citizen watch on nuclear safety and transparency. NTW has been created in order to promote transparency in nuclear issues and increase the contribution of civil society in the governance of nuclear activities. Our network raises awareness among policy makers and European society about transparency in nuclear issues and acts as a public interest counterweight.

Required Skills: 

  • Master’s degree or current master student in Communications and/or Public Relations
  • Fluent French and English(spoken and written),
  • Strong, communication, writing, proofreading and organizational skills
  • Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, Wordpress, and an interest in exploring how tech tools can be leveraged for NTW’s communication and project management. Knowledge of programmes such as Illustrator and InDesign is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently,   be a proactive and team-player person.  
  • Basic understanding of European political environment and EU institutions. An interest in Environment and Energy related topics is an asset.

Main Functions & Responsibilities

The intern’s mission will be focused on developing and supporting an efficient external communication strategy as well as internal communication. He/She will also take part in the organization of several events (advocacy events and internal meetings). 

Communication

  • Promote our work as well as conferences, seminars and other public events
  • Update NTW website and contribute to a new design.
  • Enhance effective relations between NTW and journalists
  • Manage social media and boost our followers numbers
  • Develop new tools of internal communication and project management
  • Update database

Events Management

  • Support the organization of internal meetings and advocacy events

Public Affairs

  • Increase NTW visibility within the European context
  • Maintain and expand our partnerships

What we Offer:

  1. A six-month internship at NTW Brussels office (Trone Area).
  2. The intern will start ideally in October 2018 for a part-time internship (4/5).
  3. Our network can provide 500 euros per month for the intern.  

Conditions:

  • The intern needs to have his/her own laptop with Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • The intern needs to live in Brussels and have a European Nationality or working permit in Benelux.

Collaboration

The intern will be placed under the responsibility of the Head of Operations of NTW based in Brussels. He/she will also have occasional links with other NTW members: the Chair, Management Board, and working group leaders of NTW.
