Communication and Regulatory Affairs Officer – Agricultural Biotechnology

The role: Communication and Regulatory Affairs Officer

We are looking for a highly motivated professional to join the EuropaBio team as its new Communication and Regulatory Affairs Officer.

Responsibilities:

As a successful candidate, you will support and coordinate communications and regulatory affairs activities of our agricultural biotechnology team, specifically dealing with the market authorisation process for genetically modified crops.

Your range of tasks will include:

  • Support the communications manager with social media, drafting newsletters, and project management.
  • Support the regulatory team by coordinating meetings and calls of working groups with member company representatives;
  • Prepare materials, such as briefings and position papers
  • Help represent EuropaBio in meetings with members, partners, and the EU institutions and agencies.

Candidate Profile – Essential:

You must be:

  • Motivated, flexible and creative
  • A quick learner and self-starter;
  • A reliable team player also able to work independently and with tight deadlines;

You must have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and personal presentation;
  • A high standard of written and spoken English (office language), very strong drafting skills and attention to detail;
  • Experience and affinity with social media, and good MS-office computer skills.

Candidate Profile – Desirable:

  • Some working experience in an EU affairs environment;
  • Degree in life sciences (biology, biochemistry or biotechnology), law or political sciences;
  • Thorough understanding of the functioning of the EU and its decision-making process;
  • Fluency in other EU languages in addition to English;
  • Interest and ideally a good understanding of science and technology, agriculture and trade.
